Impact Partner Spotlight - Ecoworks

With the help of rePurpose, we fund impact partners around the world that not only reduce plastic pollution, but also empower marginalized waste workers.

Ecoworks in Bogota, Columbia is one of these partners that is doing amazing work! They represent over 3,000 informal recyclers in Bogota, and are one of the first waste picker associations in the world.

Founded by Nohra Padilla, a third-generation waste-picker, Ecoworks is changing the waste management system through scientific management and holistic upliftment. One example of the great programs they have is called “Pymp My Carroza”, where they make visible, dignify, and recognize the cities recyclers by “pimping” their carts.
